2012 Activation Weekend - new addition
Path of the Heart
This
Friday's Total Solar Eclipse says, "Open to the infinite possibilities
accessible through the heart."
Eclipses involve the play of shadow and light. In a solar eclipse, the Moon blocks the light of the Sun. In a lunar eclipse, the reflected light of the Sun is blocked by the Earth, creating a shadow across the Moon. These are powerful times for clearing, release, balance and integration, both individually and collectively.
There's a foretelling of the August eclipses in the mysterious language of crop circles. Eclipse glyphs appeared in the fields of England last month, hinting at the significance of the alignments. The August 1 Solar Eclipse occurs on the traditional Lammas gateway, one of the four Greater Sabbats in Wiccan practice originating in the British Isles. Divine intelligence is asking us to pay attention.
Cosmic Crossroads
As
a species, we're crossing the threshold of a new beginning through the
2012 portal. The Age of Aquarius and the World of the Fifth Sun are whisper-close.
The darkness of Kali Yuga is giving way to the light of Satya Yuga. The
August 1 eclipse is an important crossroads along the way.
Rarely does an eclipse align so perfectly with a cross-quarter gateway, the powerful mid-points between Solstices and Equinoxes. This spectacle will be visible in nothern Canada, Greenland, Siberia, Mongolia and China, where the Olympic games will begin on August 8. A partial lunar eclipse follows, on August 16.
Both
eclipses straddle the Leo-Aquarius polarity, encouraging each of us to
embody and express Divine Love more fully, in service to humanity and
the needs of the collective. Unlike previous so-called "power dates"
for weddings, gambling and the like (6-6-06, 7-7-07, etc.), the numerology
of the date August 8, 2008, actually does resolve to an "8,"
the symbol of infinity and number of manifestation, and it falls midway
between the two eclipses.
The Bottom Line
There's magic, excitement and untold potential in all this. Also responsibility. We create through our thoughts, and it's extra-important to maintain positive intent throughout this period, especially during the eclipse portals listed below. Meditation, ceremony and ritual are especially potent at these times. As we transition to the next world age, what are we focused on? What are we creating? Will we choose Love?
This is one of the most meaningful opportunities in recent years to step into your power, embody the great perfection of who you are, and activate a fuller expression of the divine blueprint encoded in your DNA. As we each align with Divine Will through these portals, a new matrix is activated, transforming the human race to an enlightened species that will choose peace and prosperity and freedom for all.
What's Up
Similar issues come around for further "work" with eclipse cycles, so we may find ourselves dealing with challenges from the past, even things we thought were aleady resolved. Eclipse cycles are six months and 19 years, so issues that were up in February 2008, and all the way back to 1989, will be revisited. Let's hope we're approaching these challenges from a more evolved place this time around.
What
was happening for you back in February this year, and/or in 1989, that's
coming to fruition or final resolution now? Collectively, 1989 was a year
of revolution, with the Chinese protests in Tiananmen Square in Beijing,
where the Olympics will open August 8. Also that year we saw the non-violent
overthrow of Communism in Czechoslovakia, and the dismantling of the Berlin
Wall that symbolized the reunification of Germany.
Lying directly in the path of the Total Solar Eclipse shadow, China is again a focal point. Throughout 2008, we've witnessed the unfolding of China's drama as the Communist country seeks to become a bigger player on the world stage. The February eclipse series earlier this year previewed worldwide protests of China's dealings with Tibet. In May, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake devastated the Sichuan Province of China.
The Leo/Aquarius eclipses highlight the need for humanitarian integrity as we enter the Age of Aquarius. In more ways than one, the world will be watching China in August. Will the Summer Games in 2008 be a triumph of the human spirit?
On
a personal level, how can we more fully embody the Aquarian ideals of
equality, humanitarianism and brotherly love? Are you living your purpose,
contributing to the evolution?
Eclipses bring about powerful changes. Meditation helps us align with the higher energies of these planetary portals, especially during the times of the exact alignments. Ritual can be simple: Breathe in love, breathe out peace. Lead from the heart.

Historically associated with sudden, sweeping changes, eclipse periods are volatile, to say the least. Even if the eclipses aren't visible in your area, you can tune into the energy and feel them. Center, breathe, connect with Mother Earth. Eat root vegetables and dark, leafy greens. Journal. Meditate. Create with intent. These are the most exhilarating and challenging times on Earth. Enjoy the journey!

Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo - August 1
At the New Moon, we set intentions for the next 28-day cycle. With an eclipse, this is also the beginning of a six-month cycle, and a 19-year cycle, so make it count! Leo celebrates the self and embodies courage, generosity, confidence, creativity, heart-centered leadership, radiant love, Essence. A stellium of planets in Leo (Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury) lines up to infuse the Earth with divine light. Venus opposes Neptune and trines Pluto. This is magical, playful fun. Strut your divine solar self and remember to focus and pray for the upliftment of all beings during these transitional times.
The Total Solar Eclipse will be visible in a narrow path through northern Canada, Greenland, Siberia, Mongolia and China. A partial eclipse will be visible through a wider area including eastern North America, most of Europe and most of Asia.

Lammas (Lughnasadh)/Imbolc (Candlemas) - August 1-6
Astrology
guru Dane Rudhyar considered the cross-quarters the points of greatest
momentum and release of power during the solar year. They're called the
Greater Sabbats in Wiccan tradition, even more potent than the Solstice
and Equinox quarter-points. At Lammas we begin to reap the first fruits
of the harvest from Earth Mother's ripening bounty. As we are blessed,
we also share with each other, and with the Earth. Traditionally, Lammas
is celebrated in the evening July 31 into the day August 1 - the exact
time of the Total Solar Eclipse this year.
In the southern hemisphere, this is the cross-quarter gateway of Imbolc. The first signs of spring awaken from winter's night. The seeds of a new cycle germinate deep in the belly of Mother Earth, awaiting the Sun's nourishing warmth and light. By candlelight, darkness is dispelled, and a new cycle begins. We recommit to moving forward toward our goals.
Perseid Meteor Shower - August 11-12
The annual Perseid Meteor Shower will peak on August 11-13. This display can produce 50 to 100 fast, bright meteors per hour, sprinkling stardust on this magical gateway. Plan your meteor-watching for the pre-dawn hours after the Moon has set. The sky will be darker then, and there are more meteors at that time. Watch in the direction of the constellation Perseus, not far from the "W" shape of Cassiopeia.

Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius/Leo - August 16
Full Moons illuminate what's been held in the subconscious, refining that inner glow. With an eclipse, the effect goes quantum. During this phase, we're integrating the energies of the August 1 Solar Eclipse on a deeper level. Emotions may run high. Whatever stands in the way of embodying your purpose will be ripe for release.
On August 16, the Partial Lunar Eclipse can be seen from Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Indonesia, Asia, Europe, the Indian Ocean and western Pacific Ocean.
