In our lifetime, the Solstice Sun crosses over the Galactic Equator each December, ushering in an era of change and opportunity on Earth. We’re emerging into the next world of the Maya and the Hopi. A Thousand Years of Peace in the Iroquois tradition. The Aquarian Age. Satya Yuga, Age of Truth. Cosmic cycles on the order of thousands, millions and billions of years are converging now, in our lifetime. The 2,000-year Age of Pisces is flowing into the Age of Aquarius. An “Astrological Great Year” of roughly 26,000 years is ending as we approach an astrological new year. The 5,125-year Mayan calendar ends in era-2012 as our Sun crosses the galactic equator at the December Solstice over a period of 36 years. In the Hindu or Vedic tradition, the darkness of Kali Yuga gives way to the light of Satya Yuga.
The human species is poised for a quantum evolutionary leap in the next few decades as these cycles converge. This is vast, uncharted terrain. We’re stepping off a precipice, and the future is unknown. But change is the essence of evolution, and evolution is speeding up. There’s no stopping or slowing the process. We incarnated to experience the journey at this special time. During this transition, the December Solstice creates a portal connecting us with the heart of the cosmos as the Sun aligns with the equator of the Milky Way Galaxy, the dense band of stars you can see overhead on a clear night. In many traditions, this area of the galaxy symbolizes the Great Mother Goddess. From the darkness of her fertile womb, light returns. Christ consciousness emerges on Earth. Within the velvet-deep Solstice night, the soul is reborn, breathing with universal forces of creation. The intensity peaks in the summer months, and how things go from there depends on how we respond to the volatile energies. Structures, forms and institutions are breaking down, reorganizing at a higher level. During the reconfiguration, we become aware of the infinite possibilities of the quantum creational field. We realize we can choose our next reality. And we have the insight, tools and technology to do it. There are two major choice points in the new year: mid-December 2009 through mid-January 2010 and June through August 2010. Individually and collectively, we will initiate a sequence for years to come as we pass through these energetic portals. The new year actually begins with a big galactic alignment in mid-December, initiated with the New Moon on December 16 and flowing through the Solstice on December 21, a Lunar Eclipse on December 31 and Solar Eclipse on January 14. This entire period is the time to get clear on your intent and seed the changes you wish to make in coming months and years. There's an amazing phenomenon embedded in the planetary alignments of 2010. In part, the power of these celestial configurations relates to the Turning of the Ages with vast cosmic cycles ending and beginning now, in our lifetime. More specifically, planetary configurations in 2010 will bring us into alignment with the center of the supergalactic cluster that includes our local Milky Way galaxy. While these galactic forces are creative and prolific, they're also intensely destructive. So this won't be a walk in the park, even for the most masterful change agents.
